Transport Minister Announces Appointment to the Board of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation

OTTAWA, Ontario, October 16, 2003 — Transport Minister and Minister responsible for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), David Collenette, today announced the appointment of Roberta Hayes of Moncton, New Brunswick to the corporation's board of directors.

"I am pleased that Ms. Hayes has agreed to serve on the board of the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation," said Mr. Collenette. "She has more than twenty years experience in the real estate field, and that experience will be a great resource for the board."

Ms. Hayes has been actively involved in real estate sales in the Greater Moncton Area since 1980. From 1989 until 1997, she was part owner of HomeLife Pro Realty and worked in sales as an independent contractor. In 1997, Ms. Hayes started work with HomeLife Moncton Realty in the same capacity. From 2002 until present, she served with HomeLife Hayes Realty as broker/owner and manager of sales. She has received HomeLife's #1 Salesperson in Atlantic Canada every year since 1991, and she was included in the top 100 in Sales in Canada with HomeLife for a number of years. Ms. Hayes is also a member of the Greater Moncton Real Estate Board Inc., the New Brunswick Real Estate Association and the Canadian Real Estate Association. She previously served as a member of the board of the Future Horizons Housing Inc.
