Canadian Housing Exporters Benefit from Doing Business in Massachusetts

BOSTON, Québec, February 8, 2005 — Massachusetts remains such a viable market for Canadian housing exporters that CMHC International, a division of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) has embarked upon its 5th commercial mission to the region in just over two years.

Beginning today, Destination Massachusetts 2005 will bring a delegation of 8 Canadian companies (6 from Quebec, 1 from New Brunswick and 1 from Nova Scotia) to Marlborough and Boston. While in centrally located Marlborough , each company will maximize their time with a personalized itinerary that was prepared by CMHC and will travel throughout the Central Massachusetts region to visit American contacts and prospective clients. The mission continues in Boston with customized meetings on February 10 – 11, coinciding with the Lumber and Building Material Expo, the largest regional trade show for the lumber and building material industry in the American Northeast.

Canadian housing exports to Massachusetts have been moving at a brisk pace since CMHC held its first mission to the region in November 2002. Several companies who have participated in previous CMHC missions are now very active in the Boston market. "What allows Canadian exporters to remain competitive is the quality of their housing technology coupled with their exceptional after-sale service, which gives them the leading edge and secures their reputation for excellence", explains Stephanie Beaudry, Export Advisor with CMHC International.

CMHC International, a division of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, provides invaluable assistance to the Canadian housing industry by supporting its efforts to export its products and services around the world. Furthermore, it promotes the excellence of Canadian housing expertise by sharing experience and knowledge in housing finance, housing policy and analysis, housing technologies and assisted housing with the world.
